Popular American burger chain Five Guys will make its debut in the Middle East later this month when it opens in The Dubai Mall. The restaurant, which started in Washington, D.C. in 1986, is beloved in the US for its burgers and hand-cut fries. Five Guys does not freeze any of its food — freezers are not allowed in any of the restaurants — and the chain’s famous fries are made with 100 per cent peanut oil.
In Five Guys’ first venture in the Middle East, the Dubai Mall location will serve 100 per cent customisable halal burgers and hot dogs with a range of toppings. Also on the menu: grilled cheese sandwiches, veggie sandwiches, hand-cut fries and the brand’s new milkshake, which guests can customise.
For years, Five Guys stayed within North American borders with franchises in nearly every state and Canada. In 2013, the chain went international by launching its first restaurant in the UK (there are now more than 20 locations across the UK). According to their website, Five Guys has 1,500 additional locations under development.
