Noodle House turns 15 this month and, to mark the occasion, the restaurant has unveiled a new menu, which offers up 50 new dishes.

While the eatery’s focus was always on food from the Asian continent as a whole, the updated menu explores much-loved dishes from individual countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia, in a bid to become both a “cultural and culinary tour de force”.

From Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches and pandan chicken dumplings to soy crackers and a tempura basket with lotus roots, the dishes stand out for their mouth-watering aromas and rich flavours. Baos, the delicious little buns made from pockets of mantou bread and stuffed with various fillings, are also on the new menu. We recommend the soft-shell-crab bao, marinated in lime sriracha mayo, or for vegetarians, the mushroom bao, with shiitake, morning glory greens and Asian beans. That today, August 22, is National Bao Bun day is sheer coincidence.

Savoury umami, one of the five basic tastes in Asian cooking, gets its due, too, in the form of miso salmon and orange-glazed short ribs, while the crispy roasted Peking duck will now be served Singapore-style, with steamed pancakes, cucumber, leeks and hoisin sauce.

In keeping with its name, the restaurant will offer 14 types of noodle dishes cooked in either wet or wok style. This includes three new noodle varieties: knotted taro noodles, udon and soba; and three updated noodle-based dishes: caramelised beef ramen, pad see ew and crunchy beef soba.

Curry laksa, wasabi prawns and Singapore noodles are some of the signature dishes from the old menu that have been retained.

The new menu is available at Noodle House’s flagship Madinat Jumeirah outlet, as well as its five other branches across Dubai. The dishes will be available for home delivery from the end of this month.
