October 1 marks World Vegetarian Day. Here are 10 dishes to try in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, which their chefs say will appease even bona fide carnivores

Established by the North American Vegetarian Society in 1977, World Vegetarian Day feels more relevant than ever this year as we are confronted by reports of animal cruelty, meat stuffed full of chemicals and corresponding environmental damage, as well as being given the option of plenty of healthy and tasty vegetarian and vegan dishes on the UAE's menus and in supermarkets.
