Ivanka Trump joined her father on his presidential visit of India, and chose to wear a traditional Indian design for the state banquet dinner on Tuesday night.
The embroidered and flowing anarkali suit with a bandhgala collar is a look by New Delhi-designer Rohit Bal. The embroidery features vines, red roses and golden foliage.
Similar anarkalis by Bal retail from about Dh1,800 ($490) to Dh9,000 ($2,450).
Rohit Bal has dressed plenty of celebrities in his time: Ranveer Singh chose a black embroidered sherwani by Bal for his wedding party in Bengaluru, and Uma Thurman and Naomi Campbell have been spied in his designs in the past.
Bal graduated from the renowned St Stephens College in New Delhi, and has held fashion shows everywhere from Moscow to Sao Paolo. In the UAE, his designs are stocked in Robinson's in Dubai Festival City and at The Rack by Kachins on Al Wasl Road.
Earlier on Tuesday, Trump wore a classic white silk jacket by Mumbai-based, vegan and environmentalist designer Anita Dongre.
Britain's Duchess of Cambridge wore a coral and aqua printed dress by Dongre on a 2016 trip to India. Back to Trump, on the first day of her visit to India, Monday, she wore a dress by Proenza Schouler, a design she also wore when on tour in Argentina.
While in the UAE earlier this month, Trump chose a dress by Layeur, the in-house label of Dubai-based e-tailer The Modist.
At the gala dinner at which Ivanka wore the anarkali, President Donald Trump's wife chose a bold pink Spanish design by luxury fashion house Balenciaga. She paired the dress with a pair of embroidered pink flats.
