On Thursday, December 12, the “it” crowd of the Arab world gathered together for a memorable occasion – the nuptials of Iraqi influencer Rania Fawaz. The famous fashion and beauty blogger tied the knot with longtime partner Sammer Sommers, founder and CEO of Altitude Mask, in a lavish ceremony held at Melia Desert Palm, Dubai. According to a representative of the hotel, the event, which had 300 guests, was winter-themed.

"Organising the wedding was a great opportunity," says Kawtar Sadkaoui, the wedding sales manager at Melia Desert Palm. "The couple was amazing and we wish them all the best."

The dreamy ceremony, which has been hashtagged #samroro, saw the bride in a change of outfits. The first wedding gown was a strapless creation with a frothy skirt, made by her mother, Iraqi fashion designer Zeena Zaki and inspired by Carrie Bradshaw, the lead character in the television series Sex and the City.

"(I) couldn't ask for a better person to design this beautiful masterpiece!! I love you @zeenazaki, you made my dream dress come true," the radiant bride said in an Instagram post.

The second look, also designed by Zaki, was a flowing tulle number. Fawaz’s makeup was done by Jordanian influencer and makeup artist Mohammed Hindash.

The guests were no less glamorous. The evening was a gathering of the who’s who of the Arab world including celebrities such as Lebanese actress Laila Abdallah, Instagram and YouTube star Hala Abdallah, UAE singer Layla Kardan, designer Dina Zaki, founder of Lady Fozaza Alanoud Badr and fashion model Rene Borisova.

Fawaz gave a shout-out to her star-studded guest list with a picture featuring many of the stars. “It’s not a party without my girls,” read the Instagram post that went out to her 827,000 followers.

The groom also took to social media, to thank all the guests for making the occasion so special. "Here's to our beginning," he posted on Instagram, along with a picture of the two of them.
