The Kattan sisters have firmly established themselves as two of the most influential beauty moguls around, thanks to their hugely successful Huda Beauty line.
And the pair are set to expand their empire even further this week, branching into the world of fragrance with Kayali, a new sub-brand of the Huda Beauty group.
Launching on Friday, Kayali (which means ‘my imagination’ in English) is said to be inspired by "the rich heritage and simple sophistication" of the Middle East.
“The sense of smell is the most powerful of all the senses, and so many of my memories are tied to a specific scent. I can reflect back to a time and place in my mind when I smell a certain fragrance – it just has the power to transport me,” Huda says.
“What we wanted to achieve with Kayali is a fragrance collection that invites exploration and creativity, to create scents that are truly their own. The fragrance isn’t a part of the Huda Beauty portfolio, but a completely separate sub-brand which lives under the Huda Beauty group of companies.”
The inaugural collection, which was handcrafted in France, is made up of four scents – Elixir, Vanilla, Citrus and Musk. The scents are described as a “love story of opposites”, made up of unexpected ingredients and textures.
Mona Kattan, who has a dedicated room for her perfume collection, says: “Personalisation is a growing movement and this concept empowers people to express their unique tastes and individuality. While we want to guide noses into new fragrant territories, we also want to encourage experimentation. Bespoke beauty is something we’re very passionate about and Kayali is all about discovering your own unique fragrance. A fragrance for every layer of you.”
Kayali will be available at Sephora stores from Friday, November 16
