The recently concluded Lakme Fashion Week, held in Mumbai, boasted Bollywood celebrity and big-name designers galore. Unlike fashion weeks past, the show had a mix of ethnic Indian wear (think saris and lehengas), as well as daytime dresses, evening gowns, shrugs, scarves and street-style tops and trousers.

Kareena Kapoor sported a slinky black number for celebrity designers Shantanu and Nikhil, while her sister Karisma took to the ramp in a voluminous anarkali for Punit Balana.

Fresh from her directorial debut, Kangna Ranaut put on a peach lehenga with floral lattice jaalis and hand-drawn threadwork embroidery for Anushree Reddy, while Janhvi Kapoor walked for Raghavendra Rathore, and Malaika Arora for Manoj Agarwal.

Sportswomen PV Sindhu, the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal for badminton, and Commonwealth gold medallist Geeta Phogat walked the ramp for Misfit Panda and EKA respectively.

The highlight of the event was a rap performance by star-of-the-moment Ranveer Singh, in his Gully Boy avatar, who sang and swayed alongside the male models at the IAmLoveGen show.
