Animal lovers rejoice, there’s a new family-friendly festival coming to Abu Dhabi that’s all about pets.
The inaugural Yas Pet Together will take place on October 26 at du Arena from 1pm-9pm. Entry is free. From the same organisers as the Abu Dhabi Pet Festival, this event will focus more on pet and owner interaction.
During the event, guests can participate in dog and owner yoga and exercise classes, as well as workshops on topics such as pet travel safety, weight maintenance and grooming techniques.
There are also plans for a pet fashion show and a pet and owner dress competition that will crown the best owner and pet matching duo.
An indoor cat village will feature workshops and demonstrations. Children can get in on the action as well, at a play area with a bouncy slide and an educational petting farm to teach them how to interact carefully and safely with pets.
For those looking for something to munch on during the event, there will be food and market stalls. Pet accessories and treats will also be on sale. Pet wellness brands will also promote their products.
Here’s what you need to get in
Valid pet passports are a must for all pets to enter the venue. The passport must show up-to-date and current vaccinations and that the pet is in reasonable good health.
Dogs will need to be on short leash — extendable leashes are not permitted. Dogs entering the venue will be assessed at the entrance for aggressiveness, with coloured ribbons to be placed around their necks: red for aggressive, green for even temperament and yellow for friendly.
Only dog breeds and pets permitted under UAE Animal Welfare Laws will be admitted into the festival. Click here for the full list of banned breeds.
