The Galleria Al Maryah Island will host a 12-hour block party on Friday, November 15. The one-day event is free and open to the public. It will be a large celebration with family-friendly activities and concerts and a line-up of international stars.
Filipina pop star Nadine Lustre, Egyptian singer Abu, Bollywood rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh and American record producer DJ Jazzy Jeff will take to the stage. Abu and Lustre will perform from The Galleria's upper terraces, while Singh and DJ Jazzy Jeff will keep the party going on street level. There will also be live DJ sets, including one from the UAE's own DJ Bliss. Large LED screens will stream the concerts around the island.
The event will start at noon and last until midnight. Al Falah Street will become pedestrian-only and lead to all the activities happening at the block party. Abu Dhabi Global Market Square will host dedicated Family Zones suitable for young children and parents with strollers.
The Abu Dhabi Police Band are also scheduled to parade through Al Falah Street, playing the UAE National Anthem. Roaming entertainers, street artists, children's face painters, b-boy street dancers and more will also be there to entertain.
The new expansion at The Galleria Al Maryah Island
The Galleria Al Maryah Island opened its four-level expansion on Wednesday, September 4. Shoppers are now able to make a beeline for beauty brands, including Etude House and Charlotte Tilbury, as well as high-street stores Monki, Next and River Island.
There are still more shops to come, including the capital's first Kinokuniya, scheduled to open in the first quarter of next year.
