For the majority of UAE residents, escaping to cooler climes has been off-limits this year. But those daydreaming about colder temperatures and exotic experiences may well find what they're looking for at Ski Dubai.

The world’s largest indoor ski centre has just launched a Breakfast with Penguins offer, giving people the chance to start their day with the adorable flightless birds.

Participants can enjoy breakfast at the Alpine-themed restaurant North 28 in Mall of the Emirates from 8.30am to 9.15am, from where they can enjoy views of penguins playing in the snow park through the glass windows.

After they have eaten, they can change into the provided winter gear and head to Ski Dubai for a 30-minute walk with the penguins. The entire experience takes an hour and a half.

The offer, priced at Dh150, includes one breakfast item and one beverage from North 28's menu. You can take your pick from dishes such as blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs on toast and home-made granola.

Breakfast with Penguins is available twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and spaces are limited to seven tables. Children under the age of 2 are currently not allowed within the snow park, while those under the age of 14 have to be supervised by an adult.

Alternatively, for Dh65, there is also the Breakfast with Penguin View offer, which does not include rental of the gloves or outfit, nor give guests slope access to walk with the birds. You do, however, get to enjoy your first meal of the day watching the birds in their snowy enclosure. The Breakfast with Penguin View offer is also available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
