Those celebrating Chinese New Year can head to the Burj Khalifa to catch a special "light-up" show to mark the occasion.
From February 16-24 at 8pm and 10pm, visitors to Dubai can experience a new dragon-themed light and laser show that celebrates Chinese culture. The show starts with a dragon taking flight from the Great Wall of China, soaring high in the sky and flying over Dubai’s landmarks, including the upcoming Dubai Creek Tower, before marking a splash at The Dubai Fountain. It will then swirl and fly around the Burj Khalifa before releasing a shining pearl from its mouth as it reaches the pinnacle of the tower. For those unfamiliar with the performance, it will be similar to the New Year's Eve show. Click to watch a clip of it below: There will also be other activities at the Dubai Mall for Chinese New Year including region-specific music, traditional dance, arts, crafts and cultural demonstrations. The event will take place at Downtown Dubai from February 16-24 and is free to the public. ____________________
Read more: 120,000 Chinese tourists to visit UAE in next two weeks Chinese visitor surge set to boost UAE Destination China: visa-free travel from the UAE to these six cities and beyond ____________________
