Classical concerts sound better with a cool breeze on your face and soft grass to relax on – and the Abu Dhabi Festival will be moving outdoors on April 29 and 30 for the Festival in the Park programme of performances at the Mother of the Nation Park (formerly Mushrif Park) in Abu Dhabi.
The two-day outdoor festival will start at 4.30pm each day and continue until 8pm with music and workshops.
On April 29, young children can sign up for puppet-making workshops that will be held from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
At 7pm, Emirati pianists Mohammed Al Awadi, Khalid Al Rayssi, Eman Al Hashemi and Nejma Al Koor will take the stage for a concert.
On Saturday, the pendulum paint project art workshop for all ages will begin at 4.30pm, followed by a performance by self-taught Emirati pianist Hamad Al Taee, with musicians from the National Symphony Orchestra and the barbershop harmony-style Sama Quartet.
