Day two of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's official tour of southern Africa has begun with a visit to Monwabisi Beach.

The pair have taken part in mindfulness and wellness activities with volunteers from a foundation called Waves for Change. The initiative uses surfing to provide mental health support and services to young people in need.

According to CNN, the foundation is a "innovative charity that takes children out of the violent neighbourhoods they live in and teaches them how to surf and, hopefully, how to heal."

For the engagement, the Duchess of Sussex wore a denim jacket with a white shirt and black jeans, while Prince Harry wore a laid-back green shirt.

During the visit to Monwabisi Beach, they chatted to young people, took part in a meditation circle and energising dance and checked out the Commonwealth Litter Project.

The The Commonwealth Litter Programme is an NGO that works with global governments to address marine litter.

Later in the day, it was reported that the Duchess of Sussex left her husband to visit Seal Island with South African marines and conservationists.

The island is an abalone poaching hot spot. The abalone, a type of sea snail, is now at critically low levels because of over-exploitation and poaching.

The couple then visited visited a mosque together in Cape Town's Bo-Kaap district. Visiting the Auwal Mosque, the oldest mosque in South Africa, the couple took time to see the country's oldest copy of the Quran.

As part of the visit, the pair met "well-wishers from different faith groups".
