Star-studded concerts, music and film festivals and a spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks show are some of the festivities to be hosted at Yas Island over the next six months.

The Abu Dhabi destination revealed its calendar of activities featuring more than 40 new and returning events catering to a diverse audience – from families to foodies – and held at venues across the island, including Yas Mall and du Arena.

The upcoming Eid Al Adha holiday will be celebrated from August 21 to 25 with three days of fireworks displays at the Yas Marina promenade, as well as special activities held at Ferrari World Abi Dhabi, Yas Water World and the island’s newest theme park, Warner Bros World, which is scheduled to open on July 25.

New events coming to Yas Island this year include the Yas Gaming Festival, where UAE gamers are invited to test their skills in an 11-day tournament at Yas Mall from August 22.

Film buffs have the chance to watch a selection of eclectic titles on a mammoth screen at du Arena from October 18 to 20.

The organisers of last year’s successful Abu Dhabi Pet Festival have returned to launch the Yas Pet Together event on October 26 at du Arena. Animal lovers can bring their pets and put them through their paces through a mix of agility exercises and workshops. An educational petting farm for children will also be available.

Those looking to maintain or kickstart their fitness regime can sign up to the Yas Cycle Race and The Striders Half Marathon to be held at Gateway Park on September 28 and November 16 respectively.

Also making its debut in Abu Dhabi is the The Big Grill Festival. Held at Yas Links from December 6-8, the food festival will bring leading chefs and grill-masters to celebrate the art of cooking with fire and smoke.

Returning to Yas Island is the much loved musical outing, the Caribbean Beach Festival.

This time around it will be headlined by Jamaican dancehall star Charly Black and the veteran US rapper Fat Joe.
