The Bride Dubai exhibition, which is now in its 22nd year, is being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from February 6 to 9, and it's worth a visit if you're set to tie the knot any time soon.

This year, the Ministry of Community Development is part of the exhibition, with products crafted by people of determination – jewellery, acrylic work and confectionery are all on offer. Wafa Hamad bin Sulaiman from the Ministry of Community Development says: "The products are all made by students [with] mental disabilities, and include bracelets, necklaces, brooches and cufflinks, crafted using red, green, blue and RGB stones, as well as gold-plated silver and silver-plated rhodium."

What else to expect

The rest of the exhibition is dedicated to brands and businesses related to the wedding industry, from celebrity influencers, beauty tutorials and fashion shows, to cake and dance demonstrations, making it the ideal place to garner inspiration and get top tips from those in the know. Meet social media style experts and influencers Noha Nabil and Dana Al Tuwarish, and grab front-row seats for fashion shows displaying the latest designs from Amato Luxe, Ritu Kumar, Atelier Zuhra and Apple Wang.

When it comes to cake, will you go with chocolate or vanilla? Two tiers or three? There are so many options, so it’s great to have them all in one place. Many of the region’s top artistic bakers are on hand, so have a wander, tasting as you go, and then decide which is your favourite.

Tutorials to take advantage of

If you're co-ordinating entertainment, or want tips for your own wedding dance, Ria Berry Choreography is performing live on the main stage and will share dance dos and don'ts.

Another thing you need to get right on the big day is your choice of accessories. An entire pavilion is dedicated to bridal jewellery, and is offering a variety of precious stones and metals on display for inspiration.

Beauty experts from Tips and Toes salon are conducting hair and make-up tutorials for you to pick up styling ideas, and they’re also dishing out pampering sessions to VIP ticket holders, who can access the Beauty Lounge for free nail-polish changes, blow-dries, skin consultations and make-up application.

Guests can also take advantage of special offers such as Ghada Sharafi Hair Stroke treatments at half price, discounts on Avenant Luxury Linens, free embossing on Olivia Burton watches, and discounted skincare, laser treatments and dental services from OmniCare Medical Centre.

Ticket information

Ticket holders also have a chance of winning a two-night stay at Raffles Hotel Dubai. With suite access, breakfast, afternoon tea, evening canapes and drinks all included, it's the perfect spot for a post-wedding recovery staycation.

Premium tickets include access to the VIP lounge, priority seating at the main stage and a goody bag packed with products from luxury brands including Lucine Lashes, Fiji, La Marquise and more. Regular tickets cost Dh25 in advance and Dh30 on the door; and premium tickets are going for Dh225 on www.800tickets.com. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the MOCD’s education programme for people of determination.

Bride Dubai 2019 takes place until Saturday at Sheikh Saeed Halls 2 and 3, Dubai World Trade Centre, from 3.30pm to 10.30pm. For more information, visit www.thebrideshow.com
