The Grammys are an event with an unpredictable dress code, to say the least.

The likes of Chrissy Teigen, Lady Gaga and Carrie Underwood arrived at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards at Las Vegas's MGM Grand Garden Arena in all-out gowns, while other stars took a more casual approach to red-carpet dressing.

Lady Gaga's black and white Armani Prive dress had an old Hollywood feel, while Underwood enjoyed a Belle from Beauty in the Beast moment in her full-skirted yellow gown.

In contrast, simple slip dresses were also a popular choice, chosen by Addison Rae and Hailey Bieber for the event. Bieber's Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello dress was simply styled with minimal jewellery and a low, loose pony tail.

Not unexpectedly, black was a go-to shade for a host of stars at the music awards. Billie Eilish wore an oversized Rick Owens look, while Avril Lavigne, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo and Kourtney Kardashian all sported head-to-toe black looks.

Rapper Saweetie made a style statement in not one but two gowns. She arrived in a hot pink Valentino dress, with matching gloves and a diamond choker and bracelet set. But, before the red carpet had wrapped she changed into a black Oscar de la Renta gown, with crystal bodice detail.
