Women's Wear Daily announced on Wednesday that Karl Lagerfeld will be opening a chain of shops in the region.
The fashion publication said that Lagerfeld, the head designer for Chanel, has made a deal with the Chalhoub Group to open 10 karl Lagerfeld stores and fifteen shops-in-shops by 2018.
According to WWD Lagerfeld, who is here in Dubai on May 13 to showcase Chanel’s latest cruise collection, will also use the opportunity to to open two shop-in-shops and a standalone shop of his namesake. He will focus on his Kuilted range of handbags.
The Co-Chief Executive Officer of the Chalhoub Group, Patrick Chalhoub, said he believed “that by combining our expertise with Karl Lagerfeld’s iconic vision and strategy, we will be able to build a successful brand in the Middle East region and respond to customers’ needs and aspirations.”
The Chalhoub group, a Dubai-based retail distribution company, already partner with high end brands Dior, Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs.
