Previous seasons of The Dubai World Cup have seen some outrageous contraptions atop female guests’ heads. From gothic statues of the Burj Khalifa to horses crafted from hair and larger-than-life peacock feathers, there have been quite a few garish sightings, often intended to capture the attention of photographers and make the rounds on social media.
For a hat that commands attention in a more demure and less provocative manner, consider shopping from Bundle MacLaren Millinery designs, which are currently available at Etoile La Boutique in Mall of the Emirates.
Expect to find a range of headpieces — from thin, angular hats topped with wispy tufts of tulle, to wide-brimmed hats adorned with flowers and small, beret-style pieces finished with fishnet fabrics.
MacLaren learnt the art of millinery craftsmanship at Kensington & Chelsea College in London and launched her namesake brand in 2009. Many of her pieces were worn by guests at the 2011 Royal Wedding.
If you’re on the hunt for a hat that will earn you nods of approval and perhaps land you on the best-dressed pages after the Dubai World Cup, check out Maclaren’s designs at Etoile La Boutique, in store now until March 25.
