Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana made waves in the region when they became the first international label to launch a dedicated abaya line in January.
On the heels of its success, the second edition will be released in time for Ramadan next month. In late May, head to one of D&G’s boutiques in Dubai or Abu Dhabi to see the designs which include classic black abayas, hijabs and sheylas.
The new collection also features statement-making pieces such as a lace-panelled black abaya dotted with posies of red flowers. Another bears the brand’s distinctive majolica print in hues of citrine, sapphire and ruby red.
The latest range comes in cooling fabrics for the summer months, from silk and georgette to charmeuse and dentelle.
Matching accessories, including exotic skin bags and jewel-toned satin flats will also hit stores in the coming weeks.
