DUBAI // The final high-speed chase scenes have been filmed for a 3-D ride at the world’s first Bollywood-inspired theme park – ahead of its opening in Dubai at the end of October.

One of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Shah Rukh Khan, will take centre stage as he invites park visitors to join him on an immersive 3-D ride through the bustling streets of Dubai.

Also known as SRK, the Bollywood king will take his larger-than-life screen character Don, a criminal boss in the illicit drug trade, into The Chase, one of the park’s feature rides.

“The park is a mix of rides, excitement and adventure, while staying true to the ethos of Bollywood,” Shah Rukh Khan said.

“Films are a reflection of reality, where we strongly believe in our hopes, and the same will be translated to the park, where you will have fun.

“This time the chase is in Dubai, on the very famous Sheikh Zayed Road and also other famous landmarks of Dubai.”

Bollywood Parks Dubai will be split into zones, reflecting the Indian culture of film and art.

The Chase ride in the Mumbai Chowk zone of the park will allow visitors to pursue their favourite diabolical mastermind across Dubai, hoping they will be the first to catch him.

Paying tribute to Bollywood’s hometown, the Mumbai Chowk zone will also feature a recreation of the famous Victoria Station, built alongside a classic Mumbai suburban railway train.

The Mumbai Express stage will showcase rooftop performances, featuring colours and sounds of the city. Other attractions feature cricket, music and rides inspired by India’s past.

Footage for The Chase was directed by Reema Kagti, one of Bollywood’s best known directors, and involved a production team of more than 100 to ensure the ride will be as true to the original film as possible.

Annual passes for Bollywood Parks Dubai, off Sheikh Zayed Road south of Dubai, are available at bollywoodparksdubai.com and dubaiparksandresorts.com. The park is due to open on October 31.
