Jumeirah at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi yesterday said that it had experienced a surge in meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (Mice) held at its hotel in 2013, led by a stream of weddings.

A total of 708 events were held at the hotel last year, representing a 63 per cent increase from the previous year. Weddings alone jumped 18 per cent.

Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, which has won many awards recently, including best business hotel in Abu Dhabi at Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2013, will showcase its Mice capabilities at the Gulf Incentive Business Travel and Meetings and Exhibitions at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

“We credit our success on having built a strong, personable and reliable luxury brand in Abu Dhabi and among our corporate and government clients, as well as our dedication to the customisation of our services to meet the needs of our guests,” said Doris Greif, the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers general manager.

The Global Vaccine Summit, attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Bill Gates, as well as the 13th Annual World Travel & Tourism Council, were among the high profile conferences held at the hotel last year.

The five-star hotel, part of the Dubai-based Jumeirah Group, features 382 guest rooms. It also boasts 199 serviced residences, 10 restaurants and bars including Li Beirut and Quest.
