DUBAI // Artists from around the world have been involved in transforming some of the buildings along 2nd December Street in Satwa into giant canvasses as part of the Dubai Street Museum project.

The 12 artists - which included Case Maclaim, Ernest Zacharevic, Julien Malland, and Julia Volchkova, among others - painted 16 murals on themes drawn from the country’s history and heritage.

The initiative was officially announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, UAE Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, in November last year.

The historic street, formerly known as Al Diyafah Street but renamed in honour of National Day, is the latest area to take part in the project that will eventually see work from local and international artists displayed across the city as well as in the mountain town of Hatta.
