ABU DHABI // A wall mural from the Volvo Ocean Race Destination Village is to go on sale January 3, with half of the proceeds designated for charity.
The 20m-by-3m mural goes on sale on the final day of the race's Abu Dhabi leg.
The mural is being painted by Remi Bertoche, a 37-year-old French artist, and will depict a seascape to represent Abu Dhabi's maritime heritage.
Mr Bertoche has finished an outline sketch of the mural and is painting on-site for visitors to view starting on December 27.
The artist said he hopes to include aspects of the race, the city's maritime history and Azzam, the yacht that Abu Dhabi's racing team is sailing.
