The Dh35m Emirates Hills villa is a design afficionado’s dream

Furniture from the 'four corners of the world' come with this Dh35m Emirates Hills villa, which is tailor-made for those that like to entertain.

One thing that can put off buyers from Dubai’s Emirates Hills are the many similar-looking properties. Anyone who has lived in the gated community can tell tales of missing deliveries or friends that have mistaken one sector for another, or taken a left instead of a right and found themselves hopelessly lost.

There are no such worries with this Dh35 million home – a six-bed, seven-bathroom villa that has been created in a distinct style. Its current owners commissioned the architecture firm LW Design to draw up plans for the home, which has a mix of Scandinavian influences in its interpretation of an Arabian courtyard. It is an 8,616 square foot property that was completed in 2006 and sits on a 21,689 sq ft plot.

The house, in the W Sector, is distinctive for being an open-plan, geometrical property built around two main wings, divided by a central area that is its focal point. The wing on one side contains the main living area and on the other is divided into a two-bedroom guest suite and staff living quarters that house two maid’s rooms and a driver’s room. The three areas, although linked, are divided either by separating walls or terraces.

Both wings have large glass windows looking onto the central space, which features a 25-metre infinity pool, and grassed terrace areas ideal for entertaining that overlook a communal lake.

The living areas include a modern living room with a sandstone mosaic wall, a central lobby and a curved central steel staircase. Beyond the hallway, there is also a large, white kitchen and a family room. Upstairs, a master suite with its own seating area and an office on one side is balanced by four en suite bedrooms with walk-in wardrobes. There is also an upstairs family room.

It comes fully furnished with a number of distinctive branded pieces, which the agent Luxhabitat says have been sourced from “the four corners of the world”.

First on the market three years ago for a 12-month period, the property was withdrawn because of a change of heart by its owner. It is now back for sale, and according to Luxhabitat’s luxury sales director Ian Kirkby, has been priced more competitively to ensure a sale.
