The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be available to UAE residents on September 22.
The tech giant revealed its release date plans at an event held in Dubai on Sunday. Well-known personalities including radio and TV presenter, Kris Fade, together with entrepreneur Mimi Le Blanc were among other guests in attendance.
Retailing at Dh3,399, the Galaxy Note 8's features include a bigger display screen (6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED infinity display), as well as two advanced 12 megapixel rear cameras with optical image stabilisation.
A defining feature in the Note series is its S Pen. Samsung said the latest version includes a finer tip and improved pressure sensitivity, which will allow users to write, draw and interact better.

“The Galaxy Note 8 is designed for the way consumers lead their lives and lean on technology today,” said Tarek Sabbagh, Head of IT & Mobile (IM) Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics. “We appreciate the great passion of our Note users. Hence, we came up with an innovation for those doers who want to think big and do big.”
The device will be available in three distinct colours - Midnight Black, Orchid Gray and Maple Gold.
Last year, the brand was forced to recall more than 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7 smartphones, following unexplained fires and overheating problems. The phone was pulled from production lines just two months after its launch.
The Note 8 will compete in the market with the highly-anticipated new Apple phones which are set to be unveiled in California tomorrow night.
