An Emirati has been selected as the head of a new research committee for the internet of Things, an emerging technology that hopes to play a role in the creation of smart cities.
“The technology networks of the internet of Things will improve our understanding of how the modern cities are facilitated and managed, providing a lot of opportunities to increase efficiency,” said engineer Nasser Al Marzouqi.
At a recent meeting of the International Telecommunications Union, the UAE was nominated for the presidency of the committee, with Mr Al Marzouqi, the UAE representative at the meeting, as its chairman.
