Abu Dhabi’s Indian radio station up for Best Radio Station award

ABU DHABI // An Indian radio station has been nominated for four awards at the Masala Awards 2013.

Radio Mirchi, operated in the UAE by Abu Dhabi Media, the same company that owns The National, has been shortlisted for Best Radio Station for the second year in a row.

It has also been nominated for Best RJs, Best Asian Concert for “Mirchi Bollywood Rocks” and Best Movie Promotion for “Fukrey”.

The nominations come after Radio Mirchi won Best Radio Station at last year’s awards.

Members of the public can show their backing for the station by visiting events.masala.com/awards and voting for Radio Mirchi in the four categories. Voting closes on October 23.

The station hosts popular morning show “Mirchi Mornings” with RJ Aashi, Sunday to Thursday from 6am to 11am.

The drivetime host is RJ Shardul, who hosts “Bumper to Bumper”, from 5pm to 9pm, recapping the days news and events along with the lastest hits.

It also boasts concerts, film promotions, competitions and regular cricket coverage.

The station is available on 97.3FM in Abu Dhabi, 88.8FM in Dubai and the Northern Emirates and 95.6FM in Al Ain and online at www.radiomirchi.com.
