Arabtec Holding has won two contracts from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company worth a total of Dh560 million through its Target Engineering unit, the Dubai-listed builder said yesterday.
Adnoc awarded a Dh345m contract to expand a housing complex in Ruwais to Target, a fully owned subsidiary of Arabtec. The project, expected to be completed in February next year, includes a new building to accommodate "bachelor employees".
Target has also won a Dh215m contract to construct a new management building and a civil defence station on an island in the Shah gasfield, Arabtec said.
That work was also expected to be completed in February 2016.
Adnoc's Shah gas project, operated by Al Hosn Gas, a joint venture with Occidental of the United States, is expected to produce 1 billion standard cubic feet of sour gas a day to be processed into natural gas liquids and petroleum condensates.
“The plant will be the largest facility of this kind and is designed to be self-supporting and includes housing, medical, recreation and a mosque to provide a high quality of life for permanent staff accommodation,” according to the Al Hosn Gas website.
Target Engineering handles construction projects in the oil and gas sectors in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
