Keeping track of those all-important remittances we send home or elsewhere has become a little easier with the launch of a new iPhone application by Xpress Money, the money transfer service that can be accessed through UAE Exchange.
The handy app also helps users to find money transfer agents in their vicinity, calculate fees and charges per transaction and access real-time currency exchange rates.
Xpress Money says the app has a simple user interface that contains a range of key features.
The Transaction Tracker allows customers to check the status of their money transfers and the Find An Agent feature enables users to find the nearest agent by searching for countries, cities and postcodes. The Calculate Fee tab gives customers the edge when it comes to accessing competitive exchange rates, fees and estimating total transfer amounts.
The Offers feature provides customers with the latest promotions offered by Xpress Money.
"We remain committed to providing our customers with increasingly innovative and sophisticated products, services and applications," says Sudhesh Giriyan, the head of business at Xpress Money.
"The launch of our exciting new iPhone App is a key component of this strategy. We believe it will greatly enhance the convenience of money transfers for our customers and will further strengthen brand loyalty and recall."

Still on remittances, Doha Bank, Qatar's fifth-largest lender by market value, has launched an electronic money transfer service in Dubai.
Customers can access rates online, as well as send their money via laptop, smartphone or other mobile device through its DBank Online Banking service.
"Doha Bank administers relationship and tie-up arrangement for the electronic money transfers with banks in various countries, judiciously selected to benefit the diverse desires of the residents of Dubai," says R Seetharaman, the group chief executive of Doha Bank. "Customers can transfer funds electronically to 13 countries such as India, [the] Philippines, Lebanon [and] Turkey."

Fireball
A plume of black smoke rose from a fuel storage facility in the village of Kalynivka outside Kyiv on Friday after Russia said it had destroyed the military site with Kalibr cruise missiles.
"On the evening of March 24, Kalibr high-precision sea-based cruise missiles attacked a fuel base in the village of Kalynivka near Kyiv," the Russian defence ministry said in a statement.
Ukraine confirmed the strike, saying the village some 40 kilometres south-west of Kyiv was targeted.

Drivers in Abu Dhabi spend 10 per cent longer in congested conditions than they would on a free-flowing road
The highest volume of traffic on the roads is found between 7am and 8am on a Sunday.
Travelling before 7am on a Sunday could save up to four hours per year on a 30-minute commute.
The day was the least congestion in Abu Dhabi in 2019 was Tuesday, August 13.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
