Deals of the Week: Dubai First aims Skyy high with new card offerings

Dubai First, the consumer finance firm, has teamed up with Visa to launch two Skyy Miles credit cards that offer users a rewards currency programme with "no restrictions".

Designed with frequent travellers in mind, Dubai First says cardholders can spend, earn and redeem Skyy Miles on any airline, flying to any destination, as well as use their points to book flights for their family members and friends living anywhere in the world.

"The first programme of its kind in the region, the Skyy model is a natural upgrade for those grounded by their typical airline-linked frequent flyer credit cards," says Ibrahim Al Ansari, the chief executive of Dubai First.

The two cards - Visa Infinite and Skyy Miles Visa Platinum - carry a range of other benefits, including worldwide airport lounge access, airport pick-up and drop-off services and emergency assistance

Interest rates on the cards are from 2.69 per cent to 3.29 per month. The Visa Infinite card carries a yearly membership fee of Dh1,500, while the fee for the Skyy Miles Visa Platinum card is Dh750 a year. For more information, go to www.dubaifirst.com.

Al Ansari Exchange customers have a chance to win Dh2 million in prize money or one of 10 Nissan cars as part of the exchange house's Summer Promotion 2012 giveaway.

The competition, which ends on July 31, is valid for all transactions, such as bill payments, remittances, credit-card payments and foreign exchange services.

"We are pleased to announce that this year's edition offers even greater value in terms of the number and worth of the prizes," says Rashed Ali Al Ansari, the general manager of Al Ansari Exchange.
