Emirates celebrated its 30th anniversary of its Dubai-Amman route by landing one of its Airbus A380s at the city’s Queen Alia International Airport for a one-off service.
The one-off flight, which touched down to a water cannon salute, carried almost 400 passengers, including Adel Al Redha, the airline’s executive vice president and chief operations officer; Adil Al Ghaith, the senior vice president of regional commercial operations; and other key Government officials.
“Today’s A380 service to Queen Alia International Airport reinforces the long-standing tourism and business relationship that Emirates and the UAE share with Jordan and its local authorities. We look forward to operating the A380 on a scheduled basis to and from Amman,” said Mr Al Redha.
The airline flies to Amman three times a day with a combination of Boeing 777 and Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
