DC Aviation Al Futtaim, an aircraft maintenance and business charter company based out of Al Maktoum International Airport, will take an extra 10,000 square metres of space in the Dubai South district.
The additional space will allow DC Aviation Al Futtaim to expand its VIP lounge and hangar facility to meet rising demand, the company said.
“The recent increase in demand for our services as well as Dubai airport’s decision to transition all corporate and private aviation activities to Al Maktoum International Airport has encouraged Al Futtaim to commit to signing this lease deal,” said Holger Ostheimer, the general manager of DC Aviation Al Futtaim.
DC Aviation Al Futtaim is a joint venture between Stuttgart-based DC Aviation, an operator of business jets in Germany, and Dubai-based Al Futtaim, a diversified conglomerate.
The newly leased area will more than double the company’s hangar capacity, which measures 5,700 sq metres and will allow it to add two single aisle aircraft maintenance bays.
Dubai South is a 145-sq kilometre purpose-built aerotropolis being created around Al Maktoum International Airport.
It will contain the exhibition site being built for Expo 2020, a Dh25 billion residential zone known as The Villages, an Emirates Flight Academy, an aviation district, a logistics and cargo district and a new free zone business park.
The city was previously known as Dubai World Central until a rebranding was announced last August.
