I currently work in Dubai, joining the company on June 14. Then on October 10, my employer fired me. In addition he has not paid my salary for the month of September. What are my rights if an employer terminates an employee and can I work in another company after he cancels the visa? TC, Dubai
If someone is made redundant by an employer they are not subject to any employment ban, no matter how long they have been with the company, so Mr C is free to take up another position without any issues. It is wrong for an employer not to pay a salary when it is due and any employee who has not been paid can make a complaint to the Ministry of Labour. The helpline number is 800 655.
