Etihad is the most punctual airline in the Middle East in first half of 2019

UAE flag carrier Etihad Airways emerged as the most punctual airline in the Middle East for the first seven months of 2019.

The carrier’s punctuality averaged more than 80 per cent for flights during this period, according to figures by aviation data company OAG.

Globally, the Abu Dhabi airline was ranked 24th for its rate of on-time arrivals and departures in the month of July, which is peak air travel season in the Middle East.

The industry’s global standards for on-time departure and arrival is within 15 minutes of scheduled time.

In July, Etihad performed 10 per cent above the regional average and three percentage points above the next highest performing regional airline, Oman Air.
