Hertz global sale on car rentals

Middle East residents travelling from August 26 until the end of the year can enjoy a discount of up to 33 per cent on vehicle hire in more than 100 countries worldwide. The Hertz Global Sale includes a wide range of vehicles from economical city cars to family hatchbacks, luxury vehicles and people carriers. Additionally, Hertz customers can enjoy discounted van rental in Germany, mainland Spain and Italy. A number of locations are also providing discounts on Hertz’s popular Prestige, Fun, Family and Green Collections, varying according to the country. Customers renting from the Prestige and Fun collections can also benefit from Hertz’s Make and Model Guarantee, meaning that they will drive away the exact car they had chosen when booking.

Customers will be able to enjoy discounts of up to 33 per cent for qualifying domestic or outbound rentals in Europe and the Middle East and 20 per cent in South America and Asia Pacific. In addition, the sale offers up to 25 per cent savings on qualifying outbound rentals in North America. All discounts are subject to availability and terms and conditions. The company has a 24-hour Arabic call centre, an English and Arabic website (www.hertz.com) and some Arabic-speaking staff at the key European airport locations.

Available on bookings made from August 26, 2014 until September 26, 2014, the savings are applicable on vehicles reserved and collected between August 26, 2014 and December 31, 2014 excluding blackout periods. Savings will be applied when booking online or by phone, quoting the code ‘CDP 999901’. Rentals made through the sale will also qualify for loyalty points and reward days through the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards programme. Discount on Antarctic sea voyages

Aurora Expeditions, an Australian-based cruise company, is offering a 15 per cent discount on bookings for two of its Antarctic trips this season. The company uses a small, 54-passenger, ice-strengthened vessel, Polar Pioneer. From the ship there are Zodiac cruises and landings at least twice a day. The 20-day 'Photographers: South Georgia & Antarctic Peninsula' expedition departs on November 3 and the discounted price starts at US$11,600 (Dh42,607) per person. A 12-day trip, 'Spirit of Antarctica', departs December 6 and the discounted price starts at US$7,395 (Dh27,162) per person. Both prices are based on three people sharing a cabin. All expeditions include onboard accommodation, meals, guided shore excursions, and an in-depth education program with expert commentary and talks by Aurora's team of naturalists, historians, geologists, expedition team and special guest lecturers.
