Jotun has just unveiled its latest collection of paints. Here's a pick of our favourite shades. Prices average at Dh14 per litre; www.jotun.com. Creating balance The new collection is divided into three distinct colour schemes: A Place of Essence, A Place of Harmony and A Place of Beauty. A Place of Harmony presents a fresh take on monochromatic greens, as well as soft neutral shades of sky blue and darker hues of blue and teal. Balance 6325 will do exactly what it says on the tin – introduce a touch of colour without upsetting the harmony of your overall design scheme – and is recommended for use in bedrooms. Soft Skin 10580 is from the A Place of Beauty line, which features blush and rose tones for a soft and inviting effect. Soft Skin is feminine and warm, and according to Jotun, will look lovely when paired with Warm Blush 2856. Whisper it The romantically named Whispering Red 2859 will look great in contemporary and classic interiors, and features the rich reddish-brown tones of Marsala, Pantone’s 2015 Colour of the Year. In keeping with the rest of the shades in the A Place of Beauty range, it’s a warm, inviting colour that will add to the homeliness of your space. An elegant essence Elegant 1434 from A Place of Essence is one of our favourite shades. Hues of grey are extremely on trend at the moment, and are a great way of introducing drama into a space. They also form a fantastic backdrop for both monochromatic design schemes and those that feature bright pops of colour. A Place of Essence features bold variations ranging from relaxing shades of grey to eye-catching hues of yellow, and is inspired by “the fashion world’s daring colour pairings”. Velvet 10246 is an amber tone that will work well for a more muted accent wall.
