After The Artist walked away with five Oscars at last night's 84th annual Academy Awards - for Best Picture, Best Actor for Jean Dujardin, Best Director for Michel Hanazaviciu, Best Original Score and Best Costume Design - it's such a relief to learn that it will be showing again on UAE screens, in Abu Dhabi this time around.
Vox Cinemas has announced that 7pm and 9pm screenings at the Marina Mall Vox Cinemas outlet in the capital are slated to begin on Thursday for a week. I, personally, am delighted - I've been dying to see a movie that has been hyped up quite a lot over the past few months and emerged as the winner in almost every award ceremony and festival this year.
I wonder if the sales folk at the ticket stands will be warning ticket buyers that they're in for a black and white, silent film - something they had to do in Dubai a few weeks back when people left the cinema in shock that they weren't getting to watch the usual fare!
