Regional gaming fans who raced to get their hands on Fifa 13 when it came out earlier this week may already have noticed that the Saudi player Abdulaziz Al Dosari makes an appearance on the front. The Al Hilal's the first Arabic footballer to grace the Fifa cover, and showcases the fact that the Saudi Pro League is now featured as part of the game. But look again and you'll see that he's not the only local reference point.
Alongside Al Dosari is the little Argentine, Lionel Messi, clad in the Barcelona strip sponsored by the Qatar Foundation, and further on is Joe Hart of the Abu Dhabi-owned Manchester City, further boosting his UAE credentials with "Etihad" on his shirt front. And the stadium in the background is actually of.. OK, so we don't know about that one.
