"When we were done, we walked outside and stood on the corner for a while, just talking," he told Vanity Fair magazine . "All of a sudden, five sheriff's cars screeched up. The policemen surrounded us, guns pointed, lights in our face: 'Get on the ground!' “There we were, lying facedown in the middle of Santa Monica Boulevard. The case was filed by Rai in Mumbai High Court in February 2009, but it was quashed, after which he appealed to the Supreme Court. On Monday, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of Rai, rejecting Govinda’s counsel’s claim that the video of Govinda slapping Rai that had been submitted as evidence had been doctored. Govinda was ordered to apologise to Rai or face criminal assault charges.
