Rob Lowe next for a Comedy Central Roast

Comedian and actor David Spade (Saturday Night Live) has been named Roast Master for The Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe. The event (hashtagged #LoweRoast) will tape at Sony Studios on Saturday, August 27.

Comedy Roast is an ongoing series in which celebrities are ‘roasted,’ or subjected to light-hearted but occasionally brutal jokes at their expense in the name of comedy.

“Comedy Central asked a bunch of ugly guys to made fun of a good looking guy. I said yes right away. Then I realised I wasn’t the good looking guy,” said Spade.

The Comedy Central Roast Of Rob Lowe will be executive produced by Joel Gallen from Tenth Planet Productions, who also served as executive producer and director of the Comedy Central Roasts of Justin Bieber, James Franco, Charlie Sheen, and Donald Trump, as well as the Emmy-nominated Comedy Central Roast of William Shatner.
