The Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has teamed up with Yash Chopra for the veteran filmmaker's new movie Jab Tak Hai Jaan. "It was a great honour for me because I had not worked with him. My Hindi film career is now complete," said Rahman. Talking about the film's music, he said: "They wanted to do my kind of songs, but at the same time they wanted the old charm and soul of Indian music, which I wanted to do for a long time." Australian star joins Dhoom 3 cast
The Australian actress Tabrett Bethell is making her Bollywood debut in Dhoom 3: Back in Action, headlined by Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, who made the announcement on Twitter on Saturday. "Please welcome the lovely Tabrett Bethell, who joins the shooting of Dhoom 3 today," he tweeted. Bethell started her acting career in 2008 via the TV series Legend of the Seeker. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Dhoom 3 is scheduled for a summer release. * IANS
Sridevi: my best is yet to come
In her new comedy English Vinglish, Sridevi returns to Bollywood after a 15-year break. And after 265 films, the 49-year-old star says she has yet to deliver her best. "There is a lot more to do. There is no end for an artist and my best is yet to come. There are more characters to play," she said. In the film, directed by Gauri Shinde, Sridevi plays an Indian housewife in the US struggling to overcome the language barrier. Advani gears for release of animation film
Nikhil Advani says his new directorial venture, Delhi Safari, is a complete entertainer, packed with musical sequences. "It's fun, with lots of drama, energy and great music," said the director. The 3D animated film features the voices of Bollywood's Akshaye Khanna, Sunil Shetty and Boman Irani. Advani says he made the film for his 6-year-old daughter. "It's a proud moment - she has never been allowed to watch the other movies I have made, until now." Delhi Safari will be released on October 19 in India. * IANS
Bajpayee does Kashyap film for free
The veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee has revealed he wanted to work with Anurag Kashyap so badly that he worked on the award-winning director's latest film Chittagong for free. "When I read the script, I decided that I would do it even for free and this is actually what I have done," said Bajpayee. "It's a hard-hitting film that tells the story of our country." Based on actual events of the 1930 Chittagong Uprising, the film co-stars Vega Tamotia and Jaideep Ahlawat. It will come out in India on October 12. * IANS
