Next-generation Xbox Series S and X console details revealed in leaked commercial

The price and expected release date were revealed, along with a look at the hardware

A Microsoft leak has given the world a first glimpse of the technology giant's Xbox Series S. It also confirmed the price and release dates for both the S and the anticipated Xbox Series X.

A leaked commercial gave fans an insight into the Xbox Series S's features, speed and performance. The new console is the smallest Xbox ever, nearly 60 per cent smaller than the Xbox Series X.

The advert promises an all-digital gaming experience and up to 120 frames per second.

After the leak, Microsoft officially confirmed the price shown in the advert. In the US, the Series S will retail for a cheaper $299 (Dh1,098). It is expected that the Xbox Series X, the larger of the two variations, will retail for $499.

According to the leak, the consoles are expected to be released on November 10; so far Microsoft has only confirmed that they will go on sale that month.

The commercial also revealed that the two variations will have a core memory of 512GB, but will have the option of adding an external memory drive.

Since earlier this year, fans knew that the Xbox Series X would have a more minimalist design and were aware of the November release date.

Microsoft's main competitor, Sony, is yet to reveal similar details for their next-generation console, the PlayStation 5.
