Kim Kardashian, who is pregnant with her second child, has been approached to play the lead in Faisal Saif's upcoming erotic thriller For Adults Only. The controversial filmmaker describes the project as the "boldest" Indian film ever made. "Yes, we have approached Kim Kardashian and we know she is going through a special phase," said Saif. "We are ready to wait. I am very much sure Kim will easily connect with the idea of my film." Kardashian was to visit India last year for a special appearance on the reality television show Big Boss 8, hosted by Bollywood star Salman Khan, but cancelled her trip because of visa issues. For Adults Only will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Saif plans to start shooting by September and also hopes to rope in a popular Tamil actor for a crucial role. – IANS

Lady Gaga cancels gig because of Tony Bennett's illness

A joint concert by pop diva Lady Gaga and veteran American crooner Tony Bennett was cancelled at the last minute on Tuesday because the 88-year-old was "taken ill". Bennett, an American singer whose signature tune is I Left My Heart in San Francisco, later explained he was suffering from influenza. "Sorry to not be singing in London tonight," Bennett wrote on Twitter. "I love my fans in the UK and appreciate all the well wishes to get over this flu quickly." And Lady Gaga reassured fans. "Hey everybody! Don't worry about Tony, he's OK! That's just showbiz sometimes. We'll catch u next time, we got you!" she wrote on Twitter. It was the second of two concerts the pair were due to hold in support of WellChild, a charity that supports critically seriously ill children. – AFP

Zoe Saldana defends hubby's choice to take her name

Actress Zoe Saldana, who revealed in InStyle magazine this month that her Italian husband, Marco Perego, had adopted her last name, took to Facebook to respond to criticism directed at Perego's decision. "Why is it so surprising, shocking, eventful that a man would take his wife's surname?," she said on Facebook. "Women have never been asked if it's OK for them to give up their names – why doesn't that make the news? Fathers, sons, brothers, men everywhere: your legacy will not perish if you take your partner's surname, or she keeps hers." Saldana and Perego were married in 2014 and have twin sons. – The National staff
