The first image from the much anticipated Ki and Ka have been released. The image promoting the drama, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor, has the couple striking a romantic pose against a train. The poster tries to capture the chemistry of Kareena and Arjun, who are coming on the silver screen together for the first time. In the image, the duo seems to be comfortable. Arjun also reacted to the image by saying that it was a pleasant surprise for him. He tweeted: "So I wake up to a surprise myself...Let Kia & Kabir's romance begin...#kiandka this summer we shall make you smile." The film, which follows the relationship of the married couples, also features megastar Amitabh Bachchan and wife Jaya in special appearance. It is slated to release on April 1, 2016. IANS
UK New Year’s Honours list announced
The traditional New Year's Honours list has been announced for this year, and sees actors James Nesbitt (The Hobbit, Match Point), Barbara Windsor (Carry On, Eastenders) and David Oyelowo (Selma) pick up a variety of MBEs, CBEs and Knighthoods, alongside the likes of Drum'nBass DJ Goldie, Falklands War veteran Simon Weston, Ebola doctor Michael Jacobs, and Stewart Parvin who designs many of the British queen's outfits. – The National staff
Taylor Swift tops 2015 tour box-office list
Taylor Swift has ended 2015 as the top earning tourer of 2015 according to compilers Pollstar. Her 1989 World Tour grossed a massive US$250.4m (Dh919m). Her efforts dwarfed the endeavours of Australian rockers AC/DC in second place with a mere $180m for their Rock or Bust tour. One Direction, U2 and The Foo Fighters completed the top 5 of 2015 touring successes. The highest placed non-musical act on this year’s Pollstar list was comedian Kevin Hart, who pulled in a respectable $82.2m. – The National staff
Sequel to Telugu blockbuster Gabbar Singh coming in April
Actor Pawan Kalyan's much delayed Telugu actioner Sardaar Gabbar Singh which is nearing completion, will hit the screens on April 8. "The final month-long schedule kicks off in Hyderabad next week. As soon as it's done, the project will get into post-production. The makers are planning to release the film on April 8th," a source from the film said. A sequel to 2012 blockbuster Gabbar Singh, the film is being directed by K S Ravindra and features Kajal Aggarwal in the lead role. The film, which has music by Devi Sri Prasad, is jointly produced by Kalyan and Sharrath Marar. IANS
