Large format tiles are becoming increasingly popular. They are great for making a room appear bigger and, if you choose light-toned tiles, will also lighten up a room that lacks natural light. Meanwhile, natural stone replicas, such as marble-effects, are classy and timeless.

For 2017, it’s all about the “kit-kats”. Be on the lookout for this new size, 90 millimetres by 30mm, which gives tiles a more sophisticated and elegant look.

In 2017, be sure to opt for innovative, exciting tiling patterns. Instead of the traditional brickbond pattern, try the herringbone style, a layout that’s set to be big in the coming year. You’ll also be seeing modern zigzags reminiscent of art deco styles, some micro-florals and Moroccan inspirations, as well.

Tiles are an excellent way to add instant colour and pattern to a scheme. Consider hexagons – they suit all interior styles.

In terms of colour, 2017 will be all about rich, deep, vibrant greens and sultry blues, with names like Kale, Greenery, Lapis Blue and Niagara.
