Priyanka Chopra shares new Baywatch poster

Priyanka Chopra, who was missing from the first official Baywatch poster, has shared another version in which she appears. The actress took to social media and wrote: "­Finally … We're all in one frame! Ain't no party like a beach party! #Happy­FourthOfJuly #Baywatch." The poster also features co-stars Zac Efron, Dwayne Johnson, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Jon Bass and Ilfenesh Hadera. – The National

Taylor Swift tops highest-paid celebrity list

Singer Taylor Swift soared to the top of Forbes's annual Celebrity 100 list of ­highest-paid stars with a sky-high income of $170 million (Dh624.3m) in the past year. Swift was number eight on the list last year – her rise to the top was in part propelled by her mega successful 1989 World Tour, which raked in more than $200m. According to Forbes, her total net worth now stands at $250 million. – The National

Rajinikanth’s Kabali passed by the censor board in India

The gritty drama Kabali was passed with a U ­certificate and no cuts by India's Central Board of Film Certification on Monday. Directed by Pa Ranjith, the movie stars South Indian megastar Rajinikanth as a Malaysian don, alongside Radhika Apte, Kishore, Dinesh, Kalaiarasan, Dhansika and Taiwanese actor Winston Chao. The film is due for release in the UAE on July 21. – IANS

Red Hot Chili Peppers mistaken for Metallica

Red Hot Chili Peppers bass player Flea ended up ­autographing ­Metallica merchandise following a mix-up at an airport in Belarus. He posted a picture on Instagram of him signing a Metallica album, DVD and photos of the band. He wrote that he and his bandmates tried to explain to the custom officials who asked for the autographs that they had the wrong band "but they ­insisted that we sign ­anyway". – AP

Javier Bardem in talks to star as Frankenstein

Javier Bardem is in early discussions to star as Frankenstein in Universal's cinematic universe, based on its classic horror movies. Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe are already signed up to star in the inaugural Monsters universe film, The Mummy. Cruise will play a special-forces soldier and Crowe the classic literary characters Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. The Hollywood Reporter said it was not known whether Bardem is considering the role of creator Doctor Frankenstein or his monster, or whether he would appear in a stand alone movie or act as a player in the greater Monsters universe. – The National Staff

Julianne Moore feels positive about women’s changing role in Hollywood

Actress Julianne Moore says she feels positive about "changes happening" for women in Hollywood. The Still Alice star is confident the industry is going in the right direction and says the important thing is to increase the number of women in filmmakers' roles. She told the Australia's Sunday Style magazine that the type of movies being made are indicative of positive changes and diversity in the industry.
