The Royal Snooker table, priced at Dh94,870, is entirely handmade and crafted out of wood, with Manueline detailing, a traditional style of Portuguese architectural ornamentation that dates back to the 16th century. Carved legs are combined with a patchwork effect to create a minimalist, baroque-inspired design. The table is produced using traditional marquetry techniques and finished in black lacquer, with a high-gloss varnish.
The piece is calibrated to ensure perfect playing conditions. It has a diameter of 140 centimetres, is 250cm long, measures a whopping 257 kilograms and stands 78cm high, which is in accordance with industry standards, where the height from the ground to the playing surface measures between 75cm and 80cm.
The Royal Snooker table is a limited edition. The baize of the standard version comes in a strapping shade of red, but it is possible to customise both the colour and size of the table, at an additional cost.
The design is inspired by one of Boca do Lobo's most popular dining tables. The brand creates beautifully sculpted design objects that are handmade by artisans in Portugal. They combine traditional manufacturing techniques with the latest technological innovations, to create highly unusual chairs, cabinets, sideboards, consoles and mirrors, as well as novelty items such as luxury safes. These include the 268kg Millionaire safe, which is made from mahogany, coated in polished brass and then dipped in gold.
