Director: can’t imagine film without Sanjay Dutt

Not even Sanjay Dutt's impending prison sentence will stop the third instalment of the Munnabhai films. The director Subhash Kapoor says the film will begin production once Dutt is released from prison. "We will wait until he completes his jail term," Kapoor said. Munna [Sanjay] and Circuit [Arshad Warsi] are the true spirit of the Munnabhai series. We hope Sanjay will be freed early on humanitarian grounds." The actor was recently sentenced to three and a half years in prison for illegal possession of arms during the 1993 Mumbai blasts. The court has dismissed an appeal by Dutt, who has already spent 18 months behind bars. Dutt signed up for the third film after starring in the first two, Munnabhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munnabhai. – IANS

There are so many women in this film – I feel it's the perfect way to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema." – IANS
