The Pacha weekend closing parties
Pacha, perhaps, hasn’t made quite the monumental impact on the emirate’s nightlife scene that many expected, but the legendary Ibiza brand brings the curtain down on a respectable first season with a double-header of gigs, with the Dubai debut of Dutch DJ R3hab on Thursday, June 11 and a return visit from the French star Martin Solveig on Friday, June 12.

Foamaloco
The clue’s in the title – that bastion of mature behaviour, a poolside foam party, with tunes from three UAE decksmiths, Chris Delaney, Darryl Rees and Christopher Smith. Beach balls and floating beds are supplied; beachwear is actively encouraged.

To be continued ... at Blue Marlin
If we’ve learnt anything from Blue Marlin’s long-standing reign over beachside clubbing, UAE-style, it’s that they aren’t afraid of the purse strings. This typically ostentatious closing bill features not one, not two, but three international talents: moody Dane Noir, poll-topping Scott Jackmaster and London DJ duo Pleiades. Guaranteed to kick off.

Deep Like Thursdayz
After gaining momentum week-on-week, this young-house happening from Ohm Events wraps season one by: a) moving venue, and b) calling on November headliners Niconé & Sascha Braemer to return. Also guesting is Berlin’s Midas 104.

Glitch
If you like your beats minimal, techy, edgy or generally left-of-centre, then this underground electronic happening is the real deal, with Ukraine’s Skober taking to the decks.

Revival closing party
Always a reliable weekend happening, People’s signature Friday brands up with a special one-off “Stereo Love Summer Edition”. Expect floor-shaking basslines, and free drinks for ladies all night long. Sunday also sees a special closing edition of the club’s ladies night #WCT (which, confusingly, stands for Women Crush Tuesdays).

A midsummer night’s opera
For a very different musical pace – but still in a nightclub, mind – check this themed performance from the excellent Emirates Opera Project. The price includes a three-course Peruvian menu.

The last Liquid Rain party
To wrap the season, Aloft’s notorious night promises “the biggest, wettest pool party ever”. It’s not clear how the pool can be made wetter (and it’s unlikely to have been extended especially), but you can expect a festive mood in the air. Guest DJs and “entertainers” are promised.
