Orson Welles' movie classic Citizen Kane, which is frequently hailed as the greatest movie ever made by critics and film makers alike, is to finally have what is believed to be its first UAE public screening on Sunday March 6 at 7.30pm at the Madinat Al Saadiyat Auditorium. The version screened will be a new 4K restoration, and is part of the Seventh Art, the ongoing programme presented by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority.

The 1941 film, which is loosely based on the life of publishing tycoon William Randolph Hearst, will be preceeded by an introduction from Seventh Art curator Peter Scarlett and followed by a discussion. Scarlett notes: “This film is a must-see for everyone, and the chance to see a beautiful new restoration of this exciting movie on a big screen is not to be missed.” The screening is free on a first-come-first-served basis.
